I am a Rito who loves to tnavel and learn about all the different ways of life in Hyrule.I recently heard about an interesting tradition in Gerudo town.
I have a question.Has there ever been a time where the "No guys allowed" felt like it was more trouble than it was worth?
What are the origins of this rule, and are there any practical reasons to enforce this rule these days outside of tradition?
Greetings, traveller. These are very thoughtful questions, and I will gladly answer as best I can.
In our history, there have been several times when the rule seems troublesome, especially during a time of war. Most other cultures have armies primarily comprised of men, with many male leaders as well. In certain seasons, weather fluxations can make it rather dangerous to meet for prolonged periods outside Gerudo Town, so often we had to go to them.
As for the origins of this rule, details are hazy, but there is a legend passed down that the first Gerudo chief had been deceived by a man in a time of great danger and thus, she banned him from ever entering town. This rule soon applied to all men, after observing their often traitorous behaviors.
The rule still has a practical application, however. If a woman is ever in any danger because of a man, Gerudo Town is a sanctuary for them. Its both to protect anyone being abused and to protect our youth until they have the knowledge they need to tackle men.
Although, I'm afraid some Gerudo get the idea to actually tackle men...
