The label under this sculpture reads: “Lucretia was the beautiful and virtuous wife of Collatinus, governor of Ardea. An exemplar of womanly virtue in the Renaissance, she was often held up as a model of chastity. She committed suicide after she was raped by Sextus Tarquinius, a son of the last king of Rome, as a matter of personal honor. Though she was often shown as a sensual, partially draped figure, Meit conveys her vulnerability through her nudity, resigned posture, and downward glance.” #gettysketchparty #renaissancenude #thestarkat (at Getty Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/Brk0LFMF1PH/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xdlpapi1un3
My very quick study of Francesco Mazzola’s beautiful drawing at the #GettySketchParty which I hosted with the @gettymuseum to view the #RenaissanceNude exhibit, curated by Tomas Kren, who was gracious enough to give us a fascinating tour. I will definitely have to return to view these works for longer next time. Thank you to all who joined our wonderful #instameet yesterday. I love our #creativecommunity and I’m always grateful to the @gettymuseum for inviting us to experience such inspiring works. #thestarkat (at Getty Center) https://www.instagram.com/p/Brjb7QzFXPi/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=56ojlmgdr0gm
The #GettySketchParty this Monday at the @gettymuseum was terribly inspiring. Look, I drew @markk1914 drawing us (I think we all drew each other). But I also scribbled this piece which I’m not allowed to photograph. I rarely sketch much during my sketch parties because I’m too busy connecting with my favorite artists. Thank you @markk1914 @ohnonatalie @jonathanmarksart @lordofscandal @scstreeter @kellyaleshire @edlisketch @adventuresofp2 for making it out!! And as always, thank you @gettymuseum, for a truly #gettyinspired day! #thestarkat (at Getty Museum)
What a thrill to have finally gotten to sketch with @joeyfeldman_artist during the #GettySketchParty. I was truly #GettyInspired. #thestarkat
Doodled my beautiful pal @ohnonatalie during the #GettySketchParty @thegetty today. I was certainly #GettyInspired being among some of my favorite artists in LA. Thank you @jawcooper @joeyfeldman_artist @scstreeter @rachel.elese @dasdrew_ @edlisketch @virginiahein @jonathanmarksart @dr.knudson @caseyrobin for making it out! I love our sketch parties and have missed you guys. So many more to come! Thank you @thegetty for allowing us to frolic in the empty grounds. And thank you, Julian Brooks, for the beautiful tour of the David Hockney exhibit. #thestarkat (at Getty Center)

Study of a portrait bust by Bouchardon. This guy had some serious hair going on. #gettyinspired #gettysketchparty
