December 1, 2020 | Yarn (website)
I was searching for a video of a scene from a movie, and I discovered this website called Yarn (getyarn.io). You can search by word or phrase for TV, movie, and music clips that feature said word or phrase. As a consequence, most of the search results are 1 second in length.
Anyways, I got sidetracked for my initial purpose and decided to search up other words. And then I thought, why not “Egypt”? So I searched up “Egypt,” and a bunch of results came up: https://getyarn.io/yarn-find?text=egypt&p=0. I feel cheated, because instead of my watching movies and randomly finding mentions of Egypt, I now know which ones actually feature a character saying the word “Egypt,” or “pyramids” (https://getyarn.io/yarn-find?text=pyramids).
Perhaps one day I will go through all of these search results, (re)watch the movies, and do a
In any case, I have included two examples from the “Egypt” search result:
“I am Egypt” from The Ten Commandments (1956)
“Egypt” from Ben-Hur (2016)
I never actually watched the 2016 version of Ben-Hur (only 1959 version), so this may be worth a watch?
