though it was planned , his departure came bitter-sweet and too soon. he’d gone to 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 in walano — there was a section of the mountains aeron needed to finish mapping , on his way back to westeros the original map had become damaged. it wasn’t the longest journey compared to his others to places like 𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒅 or over 𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 , but the previous lengthy journey hadn’t come of the back of 𝒂𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒂. it had been a sad goodbye , though anticipated and not a surprise , and he’d taken off on sarrenax and headed on his journey. it had taken close to 𝒔𝒊𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒔 from when he left until when he saw westeros again and landed back in kings landing , a small group of people having already gathered as sarrenax was spied approaching by both men and her fellow dragonkin , they in turn reported back to aeron’s siblings , cousins and other bonded riders. aeron , however , was not long for the capital when he spoke with aemond (of whom he was arguably the closest to of his half-brothers) and learned that aemelia , aemond’s twin , had married. his gut has twisted in a jealous uncomfortable nature , face pinching in annoyance as aemond rolled his eye and explained it had been to a landed knight in 𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒏 — where she now lived , despite being widowed... so much has changed and it made him sick. & if his half-brother considered it somewhat odd that aeron simply turned and summoned his steed upon learning this , he’d not voiced that to aeron or any others. was he not flighty by nature , any way?

by dragonback it was a quick journey , compared to his most recent one , but filled with eons of turbulent emotions and theories... nursing a wounded pride and heart as well, and he let sarrenax head on her own way when they touched down — she was more than deserving of a rest and time to relax. aeron had flown with urgency and it had been easy to learn where the widow princess lived , a small manor keep that he approached with a 𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒆 determination. though... truthfully aeron wasn’t even sure if he had a right to , or reason to , feel so possessively angry about the choices she’d made ; likely it was displaced anger towards the man who had dared to wed his little sister ... but he was already gone from the world so there was little aeron could do to 𝒉𝒊𝒎. whatever he was feeling ... he needed to see her , that was all aeron knew with clarity ; he needed to understand why.

aeron knocked on the door , firmly and loudly , a single servant opened the door but before they could speak he stated — ❝ i've come to see my sister. 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆. 𝒊𝒔. 𝒔𝒉𝒆? ❞
