A | Affection: How do they show love? Are they touchy, verbal, or more subtle? He is insanely needy once he opens up to you. Hold you? His shadows are wrapping all around you any chance he can. Endlessly spouting angsty poetry about how much he loves you? This boy does it in his sleep. Will he watch you while you do anything around the house to keep you safe? Of course. Is it creepy? Maybe, but he means well by it, promise!

J | Jealousy: Do they get jealous? How do they handle insecurity or attention? Skips gets jealous easily but he doesn't tell you when he does. It makes him feel bad when he gets jealous over things as simple as you thanking the other dateables when they help you around the house. You can always tell whenever he gets jealous though by the way all the shadows in the house try to surround you more than they normally do.

N | Nicknames: Do they call their partner petnames? What Nicknames (petnames) do they give their partner? Obviously Skips calls you penumbra. He would also call you his life and his lover.

P | Protection: How protective are they? How do they protect their partner / would like to be protected? Very protective. Checks the entire house over constantly to make sure nothing is trying to hide in the shadows with the intent to harm you. Would turn you into shadows with him if he could to keep you safe with him forever.

Q | Quiet moments: How are they during quiet moments with their partner? Is it a peaceful silence or do they make it awkward somehow? Skips is long used to being in silence with you before you got the dateviators. He feels no different about it after you get the dateviators.

S | Smooches: What are they kisses like? Where do they kiss their partner? Where do they like to be kissed? He'll kiss you where he can get his lips. Will also tell you that whenever the shadows caress you it's him kissing you. Kisses you like it'll be the last time he ever gets to every time. Adores it when you kiss him on his hands the most. He loves it wherever you kiss him don't get it wrong. But there's something special whenever you two are rp'ing with him in his Shadowlord form and you kneel down to kiss the back of his hands in worship.

U | Unwinding: How do they like to relax with their partner? How can their partner help them relax after a hard day? A very big fan of parallel play with his partner—with or without the dateviators on. He'll also rp with you if it helps you relax.

Y | Yearning: Who misses the other the most? Can they be away from their partner for long? This man is a yearner. He isn't shouting it to the rest of the house or anything in that manner. But the shadows always seem to stretch closer to you when you walk by, no matter how long it had been since you last talked.

Z | Zzz: What are their sleep habits like as a couple? Do they cuddle, sprawl, fall asleep mid-conversation? As the embodiment of shadows Skips doesn't really need to sleep. But he'll lay down with you if you ask him too—you just have to be ok with the glow of his phone being there too.

Skips follows around the house all the time, to keep an eye on you and make sure you're properly taking care of yourself

He has to apologize a lot for scaring you whenever you talk to yourself and he answers when you don't know he's there

Obsessed with listening to new music. Demands that you show him anything new you find, sometimes he'll show you his music too under the promise that you won't tell people about it so it stays unknown

Tries to convince you to change the lighting in your house so there's more shadows everywhere

Wears any accessories you make him, even if they don't match his style. He will hide them more though if they don't match, he has a reputation to upkeep afterall

Joins chat rooms with you and brags about his Penumbra to everyone whenever he gets the chance. Skips also loves Thiscord servers once you show him them

Demands that you have matching profile pictures on all your social media platforms and matching bios

Sends you any and everything that he sees online that reminds him of you, from cute couple posts to photos sad looking pasta

Patrols around the house when you go to sleep. He says it's to help you feel safer knowing he's the only thing in the shadows, but it's more for his sake than yours

It's a beautiful day outside. Clear skies, warm temperatures—as warm as a nation cast in eternal winter can be. Well you think it is, at least, that's what all the staff have been repeating all morning. All excited chatter and shared plans before the inevitable order to get back to work is barked across the lab. No, instead here you are. Haven't left the lab in days, been running on sporadic naps, practically begging the others to bring you real food from the palace kitchen instead of the hyper efficient nutrient pouches or sweets The Doctor keeps down here. The worst of it all? You had no one but yourself to blame for this. You were the one that practically begged Dottore to let you help with his latest passion project, despite him warning you countless times that it was going to take an unknown amount of time and be mentally taxing to try to keep up with him whenever he gets like this. But no, you just had to insist on helping him. All just to see the way he lights up like child presented with their favorite toy once he sees his ideas brought to life. It was worth it though. Probably. Archons above you hope this is worth it. You were spending virtually all your time with him. The real him, the original, not one of his segments, him. It was exhilarating in a sense. Being able to spend so much time with him when he was normally so busy. It sounds depressing, how little time you spend with your own partner. Something that others constantly inform you of, like you aren't aware of the dynamics of your own relationship. It's not as if you never see him, well versions of him anyways. The segments always love to keep you company. Oftentimes fighting amongst themselves for your attention, despite you constantly telling them that you can hang out with all of them. But forget all that. You were here, in the deepest depths of the lab, working alongside your partner. There was a reason you pushed so hard to help him with this project. Besides wanting to simply spend time with him, you also didn't want him to end up back burnering the project in favor of having to direct his staff with the rest of his work. It was a trap you saw him fall into time and time again. It had been decades since you got to see that spark in him after he finishes one of his projects. So, in a spark of pure genius, you offered up your personal assistance with his work to keep him on track. Despite the fact that you aren't really a researcher or scientist, you were determines to help him. Even if you weren't really sure what he had you doing half the time, something about transferring the conscious of one thing into another maybe? Whatever the case, you were here to help! And if you were sneaking extra kisses and honeyed words in with him while working well, it's not like anyone else was here to tell.

an: ok so this was... not what i was expect. which is saying a lot because i wasn't expecting anything when i started. i think i might turn this into some kind series type thing, because this was more me rambling ideas than writing an x reader. also i still have a bunch of ideas for this, maybe a whole au, time shall tell i suppose
