A teeny tiny jumper with its prey. According to Wikipedia, it is estimated that the world's 25 million tons of spiders kill 400 - 800 million tons of prey every year. That's a pretty wide estimate and I didn't check the source, as per tradition. Now, on to the 25 million tons of spiders part.... If we assume that spiders are roughly equal to the density of water (?), we could put all of the world's spiders into just 10 Olympic sized swimming pools. Of course, that's assuming they are packed closely with no gaps, so we'd really have to squish them in there. Centipedes always have an odd number of pair of legs. The mathematically astute of you will realise that this means no centipedes have exactly 100 legs, and to be honest I feel I have been misled by entomologists once again. First I learn that butterflies are neither butter nor fly, and now this.
