If we’re talking materials, I used normal Foam board you would buy at craft stores like Michael’s. (XD more AH Refs)

I also used a blueprint of Myrtenaster made by Tatsutetsu on Deviantart here (He also has blueprints for the rest of the RWBY girls’ weapons): http://tatsutetsu.deviantart.com/art/RWBY-Cosplay-Prop-Build-Kit-Updated-383787250

I cut out of foam board 2 copies of the hilt and then cross attached them like so.

I also just took a strip of card stock and rolled it around the center support for the revolving chamber.

After that I cut out two copies of the blade and glued them on to the hilt in a way that it’d be sturdy, yet flexible enough.

After that it was just a ton of sanding and paint and bam!

95% done Myrtenaster.

Just need to put on the black lines and dust chambers.
