Got a new bloo Mothra figure. Of course, gotta put her with my Shin Ghidorah figure because I've shipped them and she perches so perfectly onto his head! X3

Shin GhidorahXMothra

Never thought I would partake in the GhidorahXMothra ship, but here we are. With Shin Ghidorah nonetheless! I guess that’s a great thing about RP, discovering unintentional relationships that otherwise wouldn’t even be a thing in my mind.

This unexpected relationship took months of development in the RP, as Shin Ghidorah actually didn’t like Mothra at first. The insect was the healer of the RP and her medical practices reminded the Ghidorah too much of his creators and the experiments they would do on him. 

He preferred not to interact with her unless absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, as the only Ghidorah without regeneration powers, the prototype hydra found himself in Mothra’s care a lot. And with that, he found himself having conversations to her and finding her opposite views quite fascinating. Was her unfaltering ‘goody-two-shoes’ behavior programmed into her, as his behavior has been programmed into him? A potential sense of kinship there.

The bond only grew as Mothra began showing him around the planet, trying to dissuade him from destroying it by showing him the beauty it held. They would play together and have fun on these trips! Mothra even began planning out where she would want to take him next! 

They spoke a lot, Shin confiding his struggles as a prototype and Mothra trying to help as best she can with his existential crisis. They spent a lot of time together on ‘dates’, as Shin would teasingly call it.

But that tease soon turned to actual affection towards the moth, the first time he felt such a thing. An affection made stronger when, during a trip to Shin’s home planet, he found out what his ultimate fate was meant to be. He violently reached his breaking point, destroying everything around him in a fit of rage and despair. And it was Mothra who chose to stay behind to help him through it. 

In the recent story chapter, linked here, he finally reveals these feelings not through words, but through a nuzzle and tiny kiss. 

Definitely took Mothra by surprise!
