Kidnappings were, weirdly enough, not something she would usually get surprised about. Of course that both ghouls and investigators tended to lean towards killing rather than taking their time capturing someone, but there were always those moments when one group needed information and would do anything to get it. But Jinyoung was nothing more than a civilian. A few days without news from him and the girl was certain he was dead, deep inside some monster’s throat. Everyone seemed to think so too, so no one could call her paranoid - or the typical overprotective Nayeon.
And then there was the day he came back, many weeks after, and the girl couldn’t leave him alone. What if they came back for him again? What if he suddenly felt scared? What if he needed someone to tell him everything would be alright? Nayeon was ready to be that person. No matter the hour of the day, or the day of the month, she would always be in his disposition to cheer the mood back up. The only thing missing was him actually calling for her help.
“Park Jinyoung!” The girl screamed from the other side of the street. Her eyes had already spotted his small group of friends from far away, and before they could even dare moving she was already calling out for the boy’s attention, hoping he wouldn’t just leave her hanging once more. The owners of the few eyes that had turned her way were already smiling, which made her smile right back. Nayeon was too naive to realize they were laughing at her and not with her, so she always felt immense joy when they waved back her way.
Her feet quickly pushed her over the asphalt so she could reach his side as bright as ever. “Park Jinyoung!” Nayeon repeated as if he hadn’t heard her before.
