It was the same old story for her.
She says no, she gets pulled in anyway, she says yes, she has upset someone in the inner circle. There was no winning in this game, therefore maybe the words of Hawke were right, letting them believe what they want to believe. However, she didn't want to be a story from some religion that she did not believe in. She had her Gods and her heart will not open up to the Maker nor his subjects.

Her hand snapped away from the stitched wound on her arm, fingers tucked into her palm. An infection. She rolled her eyes at the comment, brows creased and she moved both hands below the tabletop, she pulled the sleeve of her shirt down to cover the wound. The shirt really wasn’t any cleaner than her dirty fingers, but he really didn’t need to worry about it. It wouldn’t get infected.
