Girls in Aviation Day on Social Media
This week I have enjoyed my reading and discussions for #MCO335. The role of social media in today's world is crucial. One example this week was Gender and the role of social media. Social media is a way to be a part of a community and share your voice. The opportunity to express gender issues on social media is a great outlet. This can be seen when looking at Aviation. Any STEM field is usually male dominating, and the opportunity to encourage women to join the Aviation industry is only advancing with Social media. Today Women in Aviation held events all around the world and online to spread awareness and encourage girls of all ages to learn about anything and everything STEM-related. This event is only advertised through social media, and the outcome is incredible. This adds to this week's discussion that social media does have a role in gender.
