⦁ name / alias / introduction: My name’s Tristen, but please feel free to call me Tris! And I could act like I’m late & only just catching up on everything just now, but honestly? This question right here has had me stalled for the past day. Like, y’all, I’m boring. It’s not fun trying to sell myself when all I can think about is what I want for breakfast when I wake up tomorrow. (Raise your hands if ham & cheese hot pockets are your favorite! The pizza ones can get lost.) The most accurate thing about myself I can say is that, if you can’t find me strolling through the countryside humming Disney songs and fleeing from my responsibilities, then you’ll probably catch me draped across a velvet couch while wearing a silk robe and gently clutching a glass of wine. I may, or may not, be singing ‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana Del Rey during this time, but I usually make viewers pay extra for that.
⦁ favorite faceclaims: Oh, there’s way too many! Mind if I break it up into categories? Lily Collins and Phoebe Tonkin are my favorite overused FCs; Antonina Vasylchenko and Luma Grothe have always been my go-to FCs for model RPs; Summer Bishil has become my latest obsession as far as underused FCs go; and Laura Harrier, Im Jin-ah, Courtney Eaton, Lee Soo-hyuk, Elle Fanning, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Lee Jong-suk, and Sean O’Pry are other favorites that come to mind right now!
⦁ do you have any favorite quotes or writers who inspire you: Catherynne M. Valente is my idol as far as writers go. If you haven’t read Deathless, please go do that right now! A lot of my favorite quotes come from that book, but the following has always particularly moved me.
"But her heart was so cold that she could hold ice in her mouth and it would never melt. We could all have taken lessons from her.” — Catherynne M. Valente, Deathless
A close second:
“The old order, it is good for the old. A farmer wants his son to be afraid of beautiful women, so that he will not leave home too soon, so he tells a story about how one drowned his brother’s cousin’s friend in a lake; not because he was a pig who deserved to be drowned, but because beautiful women are bad, and also witches. And it doesn’t matter that she didn’t ask to be beautiful, or to be born in a lake, or to live forever, or to not know how men breathe until they stop doing it.” ― Catherynne M. Valente, Deathless
Lastly, my tag for quotes ( here ) is probably the best thing I have going for my blog. Reading through these never fails to give my muse a push in the right direction!
⦁ favorite x-men character ( if you have one! ): Rogue from the films, for sure! When I was younger, she was one of those characters that was able to floor me and leave me thinking. I loved the complexity of her relationship and the struggles she felt towards her status as a mutant, and watching her grow throughout the series was a journey within itself. Also, that power? I’m sure I’d sing a different tune if I actually had to live with it, but from a distance, I’m so here for it.
⦁ have you been watching the gifted: No, not yet! But Admin AJ has been talking it up to me & I definitely plan to start watching soon. I have a feeling that Polaris will be the love of my life.
⦁ if you were a mutant, what would you want your power to be: Having the ability to create force-fields seems like my style! Defensive with the potential to be offensive; the best of both worlds. And who doesn’t love Violet from The Incredibles?
⦁ are you usually drawn to a particular kind of character: I’d say I’m pretty predictable, yes! I answered a question similar to this recently, so I’m just going to be lazy and touch up my last response. I’m always a sucker for the girl stricken with wanderlust — holding a hand to the sky and longing to follow the birds home — or the woman that’s a briar thicket in her own right; no kinship with roses despite the redness of her lips. My sons are almost always tortured and brooding — marble statues come to life, channeling Atlas with the way that they carry their burdens on their shoulders.

Yes! I think I'm a couple of episodes behind though.
if you were a mutant, what would you want your power to be:
Shapeshifting and then dysphoria could suck it. Or teleportation so I could travel anywhere.
are you usually drawn to a particular kind of character:
I play all sorts of characters but the one type of character I don't like to play is particularly violent male characters, unless they're the jerk with the heart of gold trope, you know? I like a little tragedy, and a little hope.
with every new character i read over, i become more and more conflicted over who to app
