BWAHAHAHAHA. You were so worried they’d be together. Not surprised you’re now cool with it cause I’m fine with it too. I love seeing Bellamy being loved. HE DESERVES SOME HAPPINESS. I haven’t always liked what show made them do (killing/betraying people) but both Bellamy and Echo have always been loyal to those they love, learned to forgive others and themselves, and are trying to keep everyone alive. I wanted them to be together after S2 but we got Gina instead. I don’t love them together but I do like them together. I’m glad that they found some solace on the Ring. 

That being said there are so many hints that it’s not going to last. The one from tonight’s episode was particularly weird though. Echo’s line about we found each other in close quarters on the Ring so we’ll find each other on this vast planet. These kind of statements are always made to be broken but it was an odd one since there wasn’t much choice on the Ring. It was pretty much down to Echo or Raven. It wasn’t rocket science. Also, it was even more peculiar metaphor because shouldn’t it be the opposite: we found each other in the vast space so it’ll be no problem to find each other in this tiny space? I understand they intended it to mean ‘we’ll always find each other’ (I’m having Once Upon a Time flashbacks) but it was poorly stated. Also, for the second episode in a row, they had Clarke watching Becho kissing. I mean, this is not subtle AT ALL. 

Anyway, I’m really here for the ride with this show. They’re doing a Becho arc right now and I’m here for it. Do it well and move on. (Sorry, Bellarke is end game. I will accept nothing less.)

Okay, onto the new characters. I LOVE Diyoza! My love her grows with each episode. I was wary of her at first but she’s pragmatic, insightful, and sassy. Still a bit scary, though I think she’s okay with some compromise. There’s definitely an Octavia/Diyoza showdown coming. Also, Shaw is great! He’s one of the few sane people from the prison ship. Looking forward to him and Raven testing each other’s genius some more.

A CAGE! That's right. Thank you. It was supposed to sound all ‘meeting again soulmates 4ever’ but it was a wtf moment for me because of the way it was phrased. Her line just took me completely of the show and made me go 'huh?' I know what was INTENDED, I do, but it didn't work for me and I still stand by that it was said to be broken.

It's been 132 years since the start of the show, Kal. Monty's last message is dated in the year 2206 (50 years after they went to sleep), and in it he says they should reach the new planet in 75 years. 7 years on Earth + 125 years asleep = 132 years.

jsyk, I've been bracing myself for the inevitable revelation that Bellamy and Echo are practically married now after 6 years.

Tbh I haven’t really thought about it since the end of last season. Right now, I’ve been basking in the glow of reunited Bellarke and Bell’s sexy scruff. The 100 is one of those fandoms that, while I like to reblog all year long, I need to take a break from the theories during the hiatus. But we’re ramping back up again, so let’s dive in.

I’ve always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Echo, as in I love her but I hate what the writers make her do. I was actually hoping that Bellamy x Echo would have gotten together after S2 but he was with Gina instead. The writers have a history of doing things for ‘plot reasons’ so I have a feeling many things will be drastically different because we’re 6 years in the future and they can claim ‘character development’ whether that development makes sense or not. (Like why is Monty cooking in the promo pics when last season they declared that Murphy was an excellent cook that would be heralded by any clan?)

However, this works in our favor because, whatever these change may be, they are a fresh starting point from which our characters will rapidly move away. I’m the most interested in all the Ark pairings and how they shifted over the years. It’s just as likely that Raven and Echo are together as Bellamy and Echo. And it’s not unheard of for Bellamy to do a threesome. lol Are Monty x Harper and Murphy x Emori still together? If not, that adds alot more possibilities. Bellamy has shown he can do ‘casual’ relationships and that he cares for his people and is incredible loyal to those he loves. I would be surprised if he were figuratively ‘married’ to any one person; though it will be interesting to see who has become his closest confidant. After 6 years with this tight knit group, they will all be like his family, especially since he’s been separated from Octavia. 

But Clarke is family to him too. First Octavia, then Clarke. That has been Bellamy’s priority since S1. At the end of last season, it’s clear that Clarke dominated his thoughts and her apparent death will be a major motivating factor for how he leads the NewArkers. Her ‘death’ immortalized Clarke’s place in Bellamy’s life the way Clarke ‘losing’ Bellamy to the sky cemented his place in hers. He’s talking to the grave the way she’s talking to the stars. Who can compete with that?

Were you disappointed in The Americans this season? It felt really unfocused to me.

I think disappointed, though a strong word, is also a correct one. Also unfocused.

I think there was a lot of setup because they knew it was going to be the second to last season, but it just felt like a lot of fitful starts and stops without any resolution, which we know is coming, but it’s hard to take this as a season of television, rather than part 1 of a two-part end.

I have been seeing your Pitch posts for weeks (I'm going to start watching it if I can catch up, bthew) and HOLY SHIT I did not realize that was Mark Paul Gosselaar under that beard.

YES. WATCH IT, ANNA! We’re only 4 episodes in so they’ll still be available on Fox web/app or your cable’s free-on-demand. They’ve done a good job so far of showing the pressures and politics of the game without becoming a soap opera. You get to see everyone’s perspective from the first female pitcher, to the veteran catcher at the end of his career, to the player living his professional dream while trying to be there for his wife and kids, to the manager who’s savvier than he appears and even the agent has a story of her own. Plus there’s good friendships and humor. 

But onto Mark Paul Gosselaar! Yeah, that’s all him. The producers really liked him but didn’t want ‘Zack Morris’ recognition so they asked him to gain weight and grow a beard. Which actually makes him look a ton more like a lot of real life baseball players and allows his current character, Mike Lawson, to shine through. Even the tv critics have been noting this might be his best acting performance of his career. Lawson’s aging veteran mentoring rookie Ginny Baker is my favorite part of this series. Right now they are teammates and new friends. Their chemistry is amazing. I’m here for the Bawson slow-burn.

i know, right? we’ve been through so much together. i’m really glad you’re still around, anna. everyone else has pretty much left fandom. i truly value your opinion on movies, tv and music and it’s so cool we’ve been able to get to know each other. best modern pen pal ever! srsly i’ve been friends with you longer than most of my real life friends.
