She’s lived on her own for most of her life at this point, working through holidays and other important dates has just become part of her routine. Her birthday is no exception, with her often forgetting about it altogether until her coworkers were congratulating her. This year, she is glad for only being scheduled for a single shift, the thought of maybe getting to see a certain someone later in the day lifting her spirits. Only to find him coincidentally right outside the hospital, all handsome and charming and making her heart race.

Running her fingers through her hair, Alice regrets not paying better attention to how she looked before leaving, hoping she’s at least presentable. “I’d love that.” Maybe the whole birthday thing has her feeling bolder, but she steps closer than usual as they walk side by side back to her place. “So... what’s the dress code for this dinner?” She muses, gaze washing over him appreciatively as he looks particularly nice today. “Are we going out?” That would be lovely, but she wouldn’t mind a quiet night in with him and some takeout either.
