The slimich line is funny because axolotls are a neotenous species, meaning they stay in a juvenile form. Other salamanders lose their external gills when they grow into their adult forms. Not only is this divine beast getting bigger but it’s also getting younger.
you know what I never even thought about that. but to be fair I'm more familiar with the Geenwee from the first game. fun fact about Geenwee - at growth level 1 it has little wings, but as it gets bigger, the wings disappear. i guess we presume these are supposed to be fins and it's showing it evolving from the jeuvanile form into the adult salamander?? though obviously there's no reason why these monsters have to imitate real life XD but it's curious for sure!
but then yeeah Jade Cocoon 2 just decided - what if it was still a juevanile but also BUFF
Slimich - Ginui - Ginuba - Ginugon
