"Gion Matsuri’s Hidden Gem: The Elegant July 24th Parade (Ato Matsuri)"

The Gion Matsuri parade on July 24th (Ato Matsuri) is a smaller, elegant follow-up to the main July 17th procession, revived in 2014 after a 121-year break. It features 10 beautifully decorated floats, including unique ones like the ship-shaped Ofune-hoko, along with traditional music and Heian-era costumes.

I always admire the new Gion Matsuri kanzashi designs when I spot them worn by maiko each year, but this time I decided to have a bit of a play myself and create my own design! For my own design I went for chidori and water swirls and a cute white and violet background flowers. I used sparkly iridescent crystals for the middles for a more cooling effect. So what do you think?
