Day 60

I worked from home today. The weather was a bit iffy so no sitting in the garden for my meals today.

At 4pm we were due to join in with the virtual Guide camp. Alex launched the camp and set lots of tasks. It was all we could do to get a blumming tent up it was so flipping windy. We gave up on one and then put a small one up in the conservatory which turned out to be bigger than thought so took it back outside. We got there in the end and after watching an episode of Dr Who we went to bed in the tent with a cup of tea. 2am my bladder kept me awake, 4am the birds kept me awake.

Spending my weekend at Hogwarts - oops I mean Pathfinder/Ranger camp! Complete with Diagon Alley - where we made wands and owl friends, themed snacks, and butterbeer! Getting ready for a hike! Girl Guide camp is always fun. It's a lot of preparation and a lot of worrying - especially camping in tents when it is -4 Celsius at night! We have a lot of girls who have never camped before and they are doing so well! We are just two days away from her first camping trip. I still have to repair the tent zipper, find a pack to carry her stuff that she can carry by herself and sew her first year patches on a camp blanket. #grandparents #parenting #camping #girlguidecamp

I'm feeling sad 😭 It's our district camp weekend and I'm not there. This beautiful plant was a gift from all the other Guiders in our district and it means a lot to me. I had been so looking forward to this camp and spending time with a group of amazing ladies and girls. I take commitments pretty seriously so the idea that I couldn't go was really hard to admit. I thought I had a plan to go for part of the weekend but it didn't pan out and I was devastated. On the positive side, I'm glad I have all these great women and girls in my life and I hope they all have an amazing time making awesome memories at camp. #girlguides #girlguidesofcanada #girlguidecamp
