As a freelancer, Gintoki was a lot of things. He was a fighter (though he thought fights were some of the most troublesome things to be involved in), a chef and pâtissier; sometimes a bodyguard, or just that guy who was looking for a lost cat.
What he was not, however, was a picnic kind of guy. Which wasn't to say that he disliked the idea of going on picnics; it was all well and good as long as someone else was bringing the food and doing the work.
Add all of that together and it was still a complete mystery what he was doing here, lounging around on a cloth spread over grass, basket and containers of food made by his very own hands sitting on a corner of the picnic mat, with friends engaged in conversation as he stared up to the puffy clouds in the cheery blue sky; head resting on his arms, tucked behind his head as a makeshift pillow.
That cloud...I wonder if Laputa's in there
And how exactly had they landed up here? Late nights and a distracted mind while preparing a meal had resulted in an overabundance of food, and one thing had led to another and now here they were, out in the open, under the cloud that looked like it could be hiding Laputa, having a picnic.
Well, perhaps this wasn't too bad once in a while. Looking at the relaxed expressions on Elsa and Takasugi's face, that thought was a sincere one.
