✦ Has your own interpretation changed from when you first began playing the character?

in a few ways, yes. to be honest, most of is is just me growing as a writer, and realizing points in my characterization that i was weak in, because my core foundation as samus being this world crushing bounty hunter from another galaxy really hasn’t changed all that much. instead it’s been the little details surrounding her; pushing to make her more alien in the sense that she’s from nowhere near our local star cluster, fine tuning that line between her compassion when it comes to protecting what she deems important, and that savage brutality where she burns her enemies to the fucking ground. 

i’d like to think that she’s less childish than she was back on my old blog, and though i really haven’t had much opportunity to depict it, she’s definitely wiser, more shaped and scarred by her experiences. she’s also a little less quick to anger, i think, though mostly the raging on my old blog was done in crack for laughs. it’s not really my vision of samus that’s changed to much as it is how well i can write it, i think. 

literally the problem is that i can’t really remember how i originally wrote samus, because i’ve been playing her on forums n shit for AGES to be entirely honest. since like... 2010-2011, i think. but as far as her tumblr incarnation has been concerned, it’s been pretty much consistent i think.

One foot in front of the other, wind hisses in her ears as she runs, swift as a river, ever forward. The pavement passes by underfoot as she continues, breathing harshly and ever pursued -- a zing passes by her side and she dives in the opposite direction, facing the Elite, giving out a loud woop (HIT IT HARD, MARINE!!), afore brandishing her weapon of choice:

what sort of hobbies / past times does masamune have?

In order of preference:

Fighting

Fist-fighting

Making trouble

Cooking

Having the shit beat out of him

Playing the drums

Obsessively practicing with his swords

Sex

I think these are all rather self-explanatory .. or not. Masamune is an intensely physical individual -- however there is a pattern to be seen: he is always the one who makes contact with others, and unless the contact is violent NOBODY touches him. Ever. He grew up in violence. He developed alongside bloodshed and it’s a part of him. There is a stark difference between Masamune on the battlefield and him having a spar with another -- he enjoys it. The sweat, the exertion, the thrill, the comfort in camaraderie through one of the few things he knows deep inside his marrow. If he spars with you, he is not aiming to kill you. It’s for the fun of it all, something there is no chance of when at war.

Cooking is something he enjoys; though not a savant at the stove, he is certainly not bad, and finds it relaxing providing for himself where others typically do it for him. For guests, he finds particular pride in cooking for them himself, actually! It’s relaxing, cathartic, and requires that flair of artistry he craves in everything he does. He’s an artist of the sword, and aspires to be a chef; though he may never reach a professional level of skill (as he hasn’t the time to indulge in such activities -- he is a Warlord, after all), it’s something that requires thought, and quiet.

Sex is again, self-explanatory. His habits themselves are particularly fascinating, but Masamune is BI-SEXUAL AS FUCK. He will indulge in knife-play, blood-play, all of that, assuming that he doesn’t particularly care for you. Once he does care though, all that’s out the window unless it’s directed on him. Weird shit OK.
