Love in silence and in words

Unsure of what it was 

I knew I loved you 

Yet I had no certainty that you loved me back 

You whispered it in my ear and meant it 

I fought back the tears 

I listed as you repeated it, 

while returning each one 

I felt the love when you spoke 

but also in your silence 

A love I had never know

unlikely to know again 

You took me,

all the broken pieces 

and love each one

Glitter

As it sparkles 

They see it shine 

You took my confidence,

that I am now denied

The thought of you sticks

unable to remove you

I shine because my strength

I used to hide, ashamed of my "I" 

Glitter falls upon my skin 

I shine bright 

I removed you

Untouched by pain 

Skin seems so simple, until its scarred 

My skin tells a story, 

Only I can understand

I look at my body and see you 

Your touch still burns on me like fire

A burn no salve can relieve
