After taking a few years off from art politics and board work, today i was fortunate enough to join the board of Kunstforeningen GL STRAND, as an appointee of the Danish society of arts. If you are unfamiliar with GL STRAND it is a contemporary art institution situated in the centre of Copenhagen that plays a central role of Copenhagen's small and intimate art scene. Apart from my satisfying my own curiosity about the inner workings of the art world, I am joining the board because the art scene here is a sensitive and somewhat vulnerable. It seems to me that those of us who get the opportunity, need to take turns nurturing and developing its art ecosystem, in whatever ways we might be able to.
