Am I the only one who thinks
That the Corpanga/Maya scene in GMNY was originally a Josh/Maya convo that was rewritten because of Uriah's accident. Now there is no way to prove this theory unless we somehow get the original script. Plus we don't know how much was actually altered from the original script and/or used. It's just a hunch that I had considering the events that followed the scene (lucaya rooftop 😊) Just thinking out loud...

I thought that I would rant a little to liven things up a bit. I know ..You’re excited. Me too.
I keep seeing these posts saying how Maya is a bad friend for going to Lucas on the rooftop and how she “broke” girl code and yada yada yada...I’m sorry. But are we watching the same show? I mean just asking because literally from the very first episode all the way through GMNY has been about Rilaya and their magical-best-friends-forever-sistasforlife-mystical-unicorn-sunshine-peaches-princesses-thunder-lightnening-ring power-always-be-in-each-others-worlds-epic-die-on-a-hill-friendship.
And GMNY was NO different. Maya was a bad friend for going to Lucas on the rooftop? What? HUH? Who? How? I mean basically the ENTIRE premise of GMNY is Maya being TORN about her feelings for Lucas and her FRIENDSHIP with Riley (do you notice how they sit on the couch during the couples game? Riley-Maya-Lucas..I mean you would think Lucas would be in the middle, right? I see you writers.) In class does she ask Harper, “Do the girls get their twue wuvs?” NO! she says something like “but what about the girls they’re OK, right?” and then we get the whole “Love comes at a cost and the strongest bonds can be tragically broken” quote..
And then you see Maya basically being extremely distant non-engaged with Lucas for the rest of the ep until the rooftop scene. I believe she has to know that something is up with Riley. Why else would she be so uneasy? Yes, Maya is always gonna be a little gun shy when in comes to romance (see Pilot and her first exchange with Lucas...I have some thoughts on this I will share later) but there wouldn’t be an internal conflict for Maya if she didn’t suspect that something wasn’t quite right with Riley and if she actually pursued Lucas (like RILEY SAID SHE SHOULD) then she would somehow lose Riley in the process.
Then the Corpanga scene when they say that Maya needs to trust in the people in her life. And no, she doesn’t go to Riley on the rooftop because WE as an audience, ALREADY KNOW SHE TRUSTS RILEY. That has been pounded into our brains since literally the pilot episode. Riley trusts Maya, Maya trusts Riley. WE KNOW THIS! You know what we don’t know? We don’t know that Maya, after being contemplative/resigned/thoughtful (but she’s totes Marianne *insert eyeroll here*) will TRUST that her friendship with Riley is strong enough that she can actually do what Riley tells her GMT2 to and “Feel whatever she feels” for Lucas and actually give this thing between them a shot. She goes to Lucas. She is saying she finally trusts him too. It’s not an “or” situation to Maya. It’s an AND situation. you know like the most important word in Sense AND Sensibility. She’s decided to take Corpanga’s advice..And then you know the Blab happens and that all goes to Hell in a hand basket...
I just finished watching GMNY and I am a mess. </3

Irritates me about Farkle's last scene? I mean I totally thought he was in the wrong to blab. But at least I understood WHY he did it. I get where he's coming from.. Don't agree with it, but there it is. I can even forgive him for his #sorrynotsorry apologies to the group.. But that damn "Happy New Years" right before he left? Like dude!?! Seriously? "Hey I just dropped a huge bomb that's probably going to have major ramifications for everyone, but me! Have a nice day! 😊" Bruh

We're so busy trying to parallel S&S we missed the obvious parallel in GMNY
So Riley says that they should throw a BALL because she read in S&S that, that’s how the romances are “decided” Then Maya says “Cinderellee!” ( which I loved!) Farkle gives Riley a MIDNIGHT deadline.. Any of this sounding familiar?
I mean granted there are no talking mice or evil step-mothers/sisters and no one waltzes with a prince, but we do get the Lucaya rooftop scene just before the clock strikes 12 and on the twelfth stroke everything turns into a big ol’ pumpkin…
