Me: *slides into player to get the ball*
Player's shin: *encounters my face/forehead at high speed*
Me: *quickly gets up, briefly staggers*
Referee: *looks at me, raises eyebrow*
Me: *blinks, regains balance, drop-kicks the ball*
Me: *spacey/mind-blank/out-of-it for the rest of the half*
Me: *continues sliding into players for the rest of the game*
Me, several hours later: why does my head hurt
#goalkeeper problems#it was so rainy#which was. yuck.#but sliding was fun#i almost slid out of the goal box at one point#my legs were across the line#the other team's coach tried to call a hand ball on me for that#lol nope the ball did not cross the line and i scooted back before standing up#also that coach was a hypocrite - his goalkeeper was stepping out of the box to dropkick almost every time which IS actually a hand ball#soccer
