A publicist referred to me as a mommy blogger. I write for one of the largest news syndicates in the world and my column has nothing to do with children, but she still felt that was an appropriate term to describe me.
See now that makes me livid, because you’re a journalist (and a great one at that) and it’s just so freaking obnoxious that anyone would do that to you.

The world changed enough for them to stop filtering because they finally feel threatened by loss of privilege. It's not that you missed it, it's that they camouflaged it. Possibly even from themselves.

Yeah, I did. Just said "uh, can we back up and talk about that blatant bit of racism." Though we were texting, we talked a bit. He swears he didn't think it was racist, but to me, all that says is that he's grown up around such a deeply white area of the country that he has frame of reference for anything outside of the US.
In retrospect I should have known. When he came out here to visit me once, we talked about Mexican Food and he said "my favorite mexican food is Taco Bell." And didn't believe me when I said there was nothing Mexican about it.

I agree with you, who knows if he's just being a finicky eater or if he did pick up his mommies eating habits it was just seriously shocking to me that she was eating the things that she was eating when there is sooooo much information out there with evidence that what we consume especially coffee and instant foods correlates directly to premature birth weights and whatnot (which unfortunately my nephew was premature) seriously not judging her at all~ it is what it is I guess and like you said I personally would like to set good examples and set good eating habits for my children when they're still unborn as well as when they're born!

thanks! I just wonder if people think I do it because I'm "trying" when really - my hair's so short that this is my version of pulling it into a ponytail because I don't feel like making the effort.

How do you know when it's him? And now do you have a bunch of Anons pretending to be him to trick you? :-)
In this case, it wasn't until I went downstairs to answer the ask on my laptop and saw that he was watching it that I knew.
Some of the times, I know it because we'll be in the same room and then he'll start typing something furiously and then I get an anon.
But the real reason I know is if I ask him. He gets this overly innocent "who me" look on his face.
(But there was one time I got one that said I was really cute and he was at work, so I called and asked - and he said that he probably isn't the only person who thinks I'm cute. So I get it wrong from time to time)
