My ABSOLUTE favorite designs I made for God's Abomination.
I said I was gonna make this post but like... Months ago. Was thinking about how much I loved a handful of my own designs, particularly the eye catching ones. Rambles about each design below the cut.
In order from bottom left to right:
Godzilla Phase 3: I LOVED when George was still a little more whale. The long spooky neck mouth and the red heat beam was so cool to me. If I draw my Godzilla, he's either in phase 3 or phase 5.
Godzilla Phase 5: The armored boy. The grey goliath. The trypophobia triggering lad. He's still my main version of Godzilla. I am very proud of this design.
Godzilla Phase 6/Super: This design makes me happy on a deep emotional level. I am going to forever cherish my batshit insane version of Goji gaining the ability to speak and fly.
Ebirah: God, no amount of insulting comparisons to Tomotoa could make me hate my take on the crayfish lad. People told me I could have renamed this lad Ganimes and then tried again at Ebirah, but I stood firm. I made MY version of Ebirah a coconut crab combined with a mantis shrimp.
RED Apocalypse form: If you've been following me for a while, you've most likely heard what I've said about my version of RED. He originally wasn't going to shapeshift but things changed when it became abundantly clear that people were enjoying my take on him. I feel like I did end up capturing RED's final form but made it my own.
Hedorah: I loved drawing this fella so much. The sludge/microplastic angle I took with him was unique, also combining him with the shed skin of phase 2 Goji was a ridiculous idea that really felt alien and monstrous to me.
Gigan X: I took 3 attempts at Gigan after the first was almost unanimously panned for being "too different." I do like my original take on Gigan, but I really enjoyed combining him with Monster X in my lore.
Destoroyah: NO ONE SAW IT COMING. EBIRAH GETS MUTATED INTO DES!? WHAAAA???? Lmao. I really, REALLY loved redoing Des. When I abandoned giving him a crest, the design got better. That's the point of a redesign, doing something new!
Ghidorah: I didn't like this kaiju - which was a regular sentiment I held towards a lot of the ones I redesigned - but when I started redesigning him, I ended up enjoying his character immensely.
The Devil's Masterpiece: Subverting expectations and making an amalgam the final boss for my story was so much fun. He's a big lad and he wears the best features of who he was combined with.
Kong: Baboon Kong? Hell yeah. I really enjoyed designing the gods of this universe, Kong being one of them wasn't originally in the lore but then I decided he'd work better as a lightning slinging badass that rode on Shimo's back. Shimo would have been in this image as well, but polar bear big lady was pretty unremarkable. She's an honorable mention c:
So I was halfway through reading The book of Red yesterday (its so fucking amazing...) and I had a thought last night...
That thought being- what if Zachary from God's Abomination were somehow able to talk to Randy from the Trapped Souls AU? I don't know why, but I feel like Randy would want to talk to the kid, despite having nothing to really do with him
Apart from the fact that Red injured and used them both for his own plans...
Sort of like a "you and I are in the same boat" type of situation
God's Abomination celebrates his victory over the mechanical doppelganger.
I had a blad drawing this based on @rora-draws Godilla AU God's Abomination. This loveable radioactive Goji variant is named George which is just so fun
Across the multiverse, things had shaken up quite a bit.
After Ultraman's betrayal during the battle with Destoroyah, the multiversal council had been stripped of their crowns and left to sort out how they'd continue their duties in protecting the network without the enhanced power the crowns gave them.
Gamera and Zone Fighter eventually pieced together that Ultraman was truly Ultraman Dark in disguise, leading them to believe that their original ally was either dead or imprisoned somewhere.
Zone figured out how to access the network and the two of them confronted Ultra Dark in their grand annex. Their crowns reignited and they attacked the dark impostor of their old friend.
The fight was short lived, as Zetton emerged and nearly killed the both of them while his army of Ultra Dark's watched from above, a crown floating above each of their heads.
Zone tried to portal both himself and Gamera out of the annex but a strange magenta portal collapsed beneath the turtle and pulled him into a nightmarish landscape of flesh and sinew.
Gamera fell once more through a magenta portal and landed in a city where an old enemy of his, Zigra, was laying waste unopposed. He'd killed this universe's Gamera, running free without issue.
The turtle let out a mighty roar that shook the ground, his crown pulsating as he charged Zigra. The battle was over in a matter of minutes. Zigra was no match for the crown imbued Gamera.
But how did Gamera even get here? What had brought him across the multiverse in such a vile, terrifying way?
Lore:
After the Devil's Masterpiece fell to Godzilla in a life or death battle for the planet, the earth started healing. Mankind saw a mass exodus of monsters after Mothra and Leo began regrowing the plant life on Earth.
The MUTO permanently moved into Monster Skull Island. Shimo ruled over the realm as a whole, Gorosaurus commanded the prehistoric super organisms, and Ramses ruled the Kamacuras and MUTO.
Ramses was a direct lineage descendant of Pharaoh. While that seems obvious given the species, Ramses was a true blood family member of the MUTO species that came from Pharaoh specifically. He was a golden skinned beast that glimmered in the sunlight as he passed over those who were grounded below.
He was fast, faster than all the other flying Kaiju, some even say he was faster than even Pharaoh.
One day, his golden shell began cracking and falling apart. The other MUTO were fearful he was affected by a sickness of some sort as they watched what they assumed was his final breaths as his body disintegrated.
But then, he sloughed off the excess shell, molting away his old body and stood tall over the corpse of who he once was. He'd proven himself a worthy successor to Pharaoh. His glorious yellow and red shell glimmering in the sunlight as he let out a mighty bellow.
Credit for Prompts for @flancortes - I will ACTUALLY be including this EVERY SINGLE TIME this year lol.
Following Destoroyah's poisoning of the ocean, sources had assumed that the aquatic monsters were long dead afterwards.
Not Manda. No, the large angler serpent had defied all assumptions and pulled through. Not only had she survived, she had managed by creating massive tidepools in random pockets around the world.
Brief respites from the toxic sludge left behind by the demonic crab.
The sea life that lived in these special tidepools grew large, not impossibly so, but large enough to catch the attention of bathers and scientists around the globe.
Every now and then, Manda would be seen inside one of these tidepools and each time, she was relaxing.
Her large body made these pools warm and vibrant, and she even remained still if humans climbed into the water with her.
She had everything she could ever need in the ocean and in these small oasis'.
A note left on the desk inside the lighthouse off the cliffs of Lamp Lighter's Cove:
"Hey Damian,
I'm gonna ease you into this. Every day around sundown, Titanosaurus will climb out of the ocean and lay down on the path back to the main road. Don't panic. He's friendly. Ish. I've found that as long as you stagger the light's rotation if he decides to sleep there for a few hours, he doesn't get annoyed and investigate the structure. I've got a custom setting JUST for this sort of thing. Again, he's FRIENDLY as long as you're not rude to him. No shouting, no hooting and hollering, no using the flares to try and lure him away or spook him. You do not want him to be spooked, he's too fucking big for you to have him thrashing or throwing himself off the landmass. That's several hundred thousand tons that will easily erase the lighthouse, you and the rockface beneath. This is why the job pays so well. This is why your work is so important. You're keeping people safe in more ways than one. Let him be, do your job, and you're walking away with a big chunk of cash and a bragging story.
- Greg H.
PS: Take pictures, bragging rights are cemented with picture evidence."
Biollante's world tree remains had shrunk smaller over the years that she'd been dead. Soon, she was almost a manageable height, rather than completely cutting through the clouds.
Her core never stopped glowing, even if the mushrooms were gone. It would thrum with an otherworldly sound, pulsating occasionally.
Scientists postulated that this was some form of life that had stowed itself away from the top end of the plant, which did give cause for alarm. If whatever was alive within the core was hostile like the Matango had been, the damages would be incalculable.
Junior visited the trunk one day, pressing his snout against one of the thin golden membranes to get a smell of what could possibly be inside.
Golden dust spun around him, but unlike the first time when this dust manifested and harmed so many people, this time it was merely glittering light.
Junior watched as the dust swirled around him, almost as if it was a caress from a long lost family member, before the dust flew into the sky.
Shortly after, the thrumming ended and the lights inside the core flickered out.
