Labeled LOVE
The time has come for her conviction,
She looks at the sky and contemplates about death,
Horrible but a sweet escape for the broken,
and the uncertainty haunts her soul’s breath.
Hoping heart would slow down for it has long been restless,
Held captive by the terrible guilt,
Lungs burning and shoulders slumping,
Taller and harder, the walls she built.
Alongside her, certain man shouts “hallelujah”,
A prisoner who claims to be free,
And proudly says "I am forgiven”,
“Once was blind, but now I see”,
He exclaims, with rays of joys beaming in his eyes,
“When you’re thirsty, look for the Living Water”,
“The Bread of Life will fulfill your hunger”,
“You will have peace with the Comforter”.
She couldn’t believe this weakling like her,
The King’s wrath is imminent,
Eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth,
No escape from the punishment,
She prays a lot, she follows the law,
She continues until her heart beats out of numbness,
Seems like works are not enough to amend,
Unsure if it is tolerable, her grief’s heaviness.
Finally, the scroll is announced,
“It is finished”, the King shouts emotionally,
For His SON took the nails and crown of thorns,
Freedom is brought to her eternally.
All she has in response to questions are more questions,
How can a blameless man be punished?
A clear depiction of injustice, she is ashamed,
His blood gave her new life to be cherished.
When the world accused and condemned,
And demanded for what she deserved,
The King rescued and redeemed,
And in His Son, mercy was observed,
The King knew what it was she longed to have
GRACE.
And the Son who bore her shame on the cross is labeled,
LOVE.
