i am once again thinking about the library destruction scene in the handmaiden. when sook-hee figures out what hideko has been forced to read to her uncle and his guests, the way she just systematically destroys EVERY inch of that place. NO fuckin mercy. ripping the books apart, splashing ink across the prints, slashing the scrolls, hideko joining in, dumping them in the water tanks. SMASHING the snake statue in the doorway. “my tamako. my sook-hee.”
