(Matthew 19:26) Sometimes we can make the mistake of putting limits on our future because we constantly look at what we have and what we don't have. This is a very big mistake to make on our part. Not only because we may find ourselves doubting ourselves, but also doubting God when He declared something will come to pass. When God told Sarah she will have a child, she laughed within herself and said, "How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master--my husband--is also so old?" (Genesis 18:12). She doubted God and she doubted herself, but God wasn't limited to Sarah's natural condition - even though she was up in age, He was still able to carryout His word. God is not bound by any limits, so we should take all our limits off of Him and off ourselves, as well. God said to Sarah, "Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son." (Genesis 18:12) What God was saying was that her future was going to be filled with His promise - her future! Never feel that God is bound by your limits - it could be your past, your finances, your age, or your education level. (Luke 4:8) There are so many people who God wants to bring into a life that He has already prepared for them, but He can't do it because they are in love with both God and the things of this world. The one thing the enemy don't want you to think about, is how precious your time is. If he can convince you to keep putting off a change you know you need to make then he will do just that; and before you know it, years have gone by. This happens because sin does so easily sets us back from reaching our God intended destination (Hebrews 12:1). Wanting what God has promised us is one thing, but it's only when you want it bad enough that you are then willing to come out of the things of the world and let God mold you. God wants His people to make some serious adjustments in their thinking before the new year starts. He wants serious relationships with His children. He wants you to choose him over the desires of the world, even when it's hard. He wants you to stop going around in circles in the wilderness. He wants you to make your mind up, come out of those sinful ways, and then He'll plant you where you belong. The children of Israel loved their sinful ways, and for 40 years they wandered around outside their promise. (Judges 7:2) The one thing God wants all His children to understand is that our victory is not achieved through might (human strength) nor by power (human understanding), but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6). Sometimes we find ourselves in serious situations where if we had more money or more contacts or more education; or if we came from an influential background like some other folks, then our serious situations wouldn't be all that serious. But in order for God to prove Himself to be God in our lives, He sometimes has to put us in a position where we are at a disadvantage. God wanted Gideon and the children of Israel to get the victory, but He was going to give it to them and in turn He wanted the glory, but Gideon first had to cut the size of his army from 32,000 to 300 men (Judges 7:2-8); this was to fight a force of 135,000 men (Judges 8:10). But it didn't matter how many men Gideon had, it was God who had already declared victory in the favor of His people. You may be at a disadvantage in a serious situation that you're facing. But God wants you to keep in mind that the battle has already been declared in your favor.
