OPENING NIGHT-CORE
backstage for godspell is so fun fr (they're hitting a fake blunt)
Godspell – 2012, conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelek with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, will open at The Theater Barn, 654 Route 20, New Lebanon, NY on Thursday, August 10th at 8pm for a two week run through Sunday, August 20th.
Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin); and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, “Day by Day,” Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord,” “Learn Your Lessons Well,” “All for the Best,” “All Good Gifts,” “Turn Back, O Man” and “By My Side.” Don’t miss this regional premier that shares parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage delivering messages of kindness, tolerance and love.

Directing the show is Trey Compton whose Theater Barn credits include I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change,! I Love a Piano, and Forever Plaid. The ‘Barn welcomes new comer Zack Zaromatidis as Jesus and returning from last season, audience favorite, Andrew Pace as Judas/John the Baptist and Andrew Martinelli as one of the disciples. Remaining disciples include a talented cast of musicians and performers (Nolan Baker, Megan Koumis, Katie Luke, Katherine McLellan, Connor Wayne Milam, Paul Urriola and Luane Zielinski) that will play many of their own musical instruments to support the pop blend of the band. Singing and dancing with guitars, drums and tambourines, a banjo and mandolin, as well as a saxophone, recorder, and accordion, add a unique blend of sound to this already popular musical score.
Performances at the air-conditioned Theater Barn are Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm,
Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $27.00 for the evening performances and $25.00 for the Sunday matinee. For information and reservations

Day 6 (1/2 ish I guess): So I didn’t upload any yesterday because I was busy and like not home, but anyway, this is the 2012 revival version of Beautiful City from Godspell. Not a big fan of this musical, but my school did it this past year and this song’s really pretty so yeah.
