don't be disappointed that Tatsumaki never mentioned Genos saving her in the webcomic: she was unconscious when it happened.

Sekingar wouldn’t do that – he’s a decent person. That and most of them have performed extremely well, well enough to justify having been chosen as potential future high-fliers.

I agree that he’s a decent person, I just don’t think he got to where he is by immediately agreeing to whatever demands are made of him, and nor do I think he has the authority to singlehandedly issue promotions for fifteen heroes, regardless of how far up in the ranks he may intend to move them. (And if he takes the hit for how much of a clusterfuck this arc ends up being and doesn’t try to pass the buck, he’ll be lucky to come out of it with a job at all, much less be in a position to tell the rest of the executives that he promised the support team promotions in return for their participation.) I could be wrong, of course, but I really do think the best the support team can hope for is credit in line with normal hero activities--which will probably boost their standing on its own, even if just a little--but not any kind of special treatment.

Indeed. I think the only place the manga has nailed that look is in chapters 82 - 84 where we see Genos through Garou's eyes. And he's as dangerous as he looks.

Ah yes, no wonder I love those panels so much. :D Where Murata nails that chilling, dangerous terminator webcomic vibe when seen from Garou’s pov.

Where he’s no doubt seen as a legitimate threat! :O Interestingly enough, whenever the pov flips back to Genos in these chapters, Murata also goes back to drawing him more like he usually does...where he’s viewed more like the hero of the fight again instead. Knowing Murata’s perfectionism, he likely intended for these pov style changes on purpose. (And I bet the audience’s confusion on who to root for here was intended too.) It’s another huge contrast seeing Murata portray Genos like THIS on the ch cover between those other panels of him:

Yup, it’s been the mood. I’m more than a little disturbed at the ‘fans’ who want him to die

Imagine the hell that’d be raised if he were a fan-favorite. They’re calling for him to die for edge points and shock value because he doesn’t matter to them personally. They want to see someone die, as long as it’s some nobody and not anyone they’re attached to. He’s just a throwaway character. Everyone knows only the strong and popular matter. /s

He’s dowsing with the sticks. It’s a (dubious) way that people claim to detect things like caves, sources of water and even small objects. The sticks supposedly amplify your esp and point out the location of what you’re looking for. The plumb line is a dowsing pendulum that is supposed to point out the truth. Usually people use it for automatic writing. Of course this guy is a real psychic, so unlike the usual mumbo-jumbo, his dowsing might actually work.

Oh, that’s really cool! I love that we’ve got an esper now whose psychic abilities are more than just, you know, raw destructive force and bullying people with brain magic. I assume that’s something a fully-realized esper could do without the use of tools if they wanted to, so him using things like that to make up for what he lacks in power is pretty neat to see. I hope we get to see more of his methods at some point. He looks like he’s a solid member of the team even without combat prowess after all!
