What if you gave yourself permission to allow yourself to be seen? What if you allowed the world to see all of you? What if you let your guard down so that you could be exposed, vulnerable in your own truth? What if you looked at yourself as a whole instead of a person with broken parts? What if you became unapologetic about being who you are? What if today is the day you whispered to your body and soul and said, “today I want to commit to writing OUR greatest love story?” #womaninprogress #dailydoseofjo ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today I woke up as the sun slowly crept into the room at @thelinehotel and as the warmth began to gently kiss my bare skin I couldn’t help but feel as if I was being covered with love and gratitude. These past few days in LA has filled my heart with so much purpose. The time spent talking to @justdimpleit about love, redefining how we see love, and my thoughts about how I want to expand my brand to talk about love, relationships, and sex health; to all the laughter shared with my management team @parkermanagement @lindsaynead; to all the friends I’ve hugged this trip; and my time speaking at @blogher has left me extremely FULL of 🖤! I start my courses for my @jrni_co life coaching certification and I’m so excited 😆. I think about the way in which I’ve began to approach life. I want to be fully engulfed in it and in love with what it has in store for, all the good and hard learning experiences ahead. This is the mindset I want to empower my clients and you to feel. And it all starts with the willingness to show up for yourself and the commitment to co-write the greatest love story you will ever write with yourself! #selflove #selfacceptance 〰️ #gofitjo #health #blogger #thatsdarling #wellnessblogger #iinhealthcoach #lifecoach #sf #womenswellness #inspiredaily #wellness #awayjogoes #sfblogger #LA #fitmoms #healthyisthenewskinny #fitfam #createthelove #selflove #bodypositive (at The LINE Hotel Los Angeles) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtGoDtZjOzd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1635xpael9cjd
For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again. - Erin Roth #feedmysoul #gofitjo https://www.instagram.com/p/BnsglUrhZgh/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=who9rzoxcv2y
Does ‘happiness’ ever feel fluffy or unattainable? When I started this account my profile read “An everyday woman on a journey for health and happiness one rep at a time.” Just like most of you I followed women who were my fitspiration, had the body type I wanted, the work ethic I admired. I would look at them and think “I want THAT!” I quickly realized I was not them and they were not me and some were not showing parts of their story that I so desperately craved to see. ✨TRUTH: REAL JOY is embracing all of you✨ the good, the bad, the ugly, the unsexy parts that are often dismissed and not shared to the public eye. But that’s not me, that’s never been me. I’m a woman who struggles to get up every day to go to the gym. I’m a woman who chooses to eat pizza for dinner from time to time instead of my prepped meals. I’m a woman who will not always feel beautiful in her own skin. I’m a mother who occasionally finds her self yelling at her kids and then cries at night feeling like she’s the worst mom in the world. I’m a wife who sometimes puts her husband last on her list of priorities. I am NOT perfect, we are not perfect and that is a beautiful thing. Because true joy is learning how to lean in and love your whole self, all your flaws, and mistakes. True joy is looking at all those shortcomings embracing it and still moving forward with a smile because life is a beautiful mess. This is #relentlesslybeautiful this is #relentless living. #gofitjo (at 24 Hour Fitness - Pleasanton Willow, CA)
It’s easy to love yourself when your body is changing in the direction that society deems “best”. @positively.megan you said it best. 🙌🏾 I love having goals. I’m a results driven person and having goals allows me to feel like I’m moving forward and when I don’t feel like myself. Self-love, when losing weight or making progress towards a certain aesthetic goal, is easy to talk about. 🤔 But what happens when you stop making that progress and when your body no longer fits the mold that society deems you to be “fit”. What happens when your beautiful body starts to hang out comfortable over your pants, can you love yourself then? Self-love seemed to be the number one term tossed around all of 2017 but do we really know what it means? ⚡️ #selflove involves treating yourself with the same compassion, kindness, concern and support you would show a good friend. When faced with difficult life struggles, mistakes, and failures its responding with kindness rather than harsh self-judgement.⚡️ I exercised that to the fullest this year and some days was a harder practice for me and other days I was a warrior armed with self-love and grace. - When I started this #fitnessjourney, my intention was to become a healthier and happier version of myself. However for a period of time my training was no longer for me, it was to keep up and maintain a certain body image and the pressure I placed on myself to keep this up became all consuming. It started to become aesthetic driven (the opposite of why I started this journey) and that’s 💯 OK…it happens to the best of us. We learn, we grow, and we evolve and become better versions of ourselves because of these lessons. They mold me into who I am today. - ✨Accepting my body for where it is today and creating harmony in my beautiful messy life is my biggest goal of next year.✨ Reconnecting with my creative side in the kitchen, eating more plant based meals, and getting outside more are also on top of the list! I’m leaving 2017 extremely grateful for the truths it’s shown me and 🎉 walking into 2018 feeling powerful beyond measure. 👊🏾 || read more about my 2018 goals on www.gofitjo.com #gofitjo #relentlesslybeautiful (at San Francisco, California)

ON GRATITUDE || We’re now in that time of the year where we’re thinking about all the people and the reasons we’re grateful for the lives we have. Gratitude is one form of emotion I have no problem expressing to others and I’m pretty sure we share the same perspective on this, but can I ask you something? 🤔 When is the last time you said ‘THANK YOU’ to yourself? ✨When is the last time you honored yourself for the hard work you’ve put into the life you’ve created?✨ 〰️ On www.gofitjo.com is a little Sunday reading on ✨How Self Gratitude Can Help Boost Your Confidence.✨ http://bit.ly/2iTdiyt #linkinbio #gofitjo #ontheblog #blogwithme (at San Francisco, California)
