A little after dawn, not a week after Voronwë had passed beyond the city gates, a messanger delivered a letter to the House of the Golden Flower. It was addressed to the Lord of the House, and sealed with the personal seal of the Princess of Gondolin. The contents of the letter were as follows:

For the attention of Lord Glorfindel of the House of the Golden Flower,

I pray this day is treating yourself and your House well.

It has come to my attention that I have been somewhat distracted in recent times, and as such have neglected my kin. In light of this, I invite you to a private dinner this evening. If you wish to attend, and I would be delighted if you did, please have Hendor informed before midday that food might be prepared.

This is an invitation for you alone. Dinner will be served in my personal quarters a little past the seventh hour; one of my maids will see you to the correct room.

Like... in all my fandom years I’ve not come across something LIKE THAT AND I WONDER SINCE WHEN I’VE BECOME so PATIENT... AND WHY. jdklfjdslfa. it’s such a slap in the face of so many authors/writers/readers .. and i just want to reach through the screen AND SLAP SOMEBodY

She choked on a watery laugh as she was shoved away, stumbling to her own feet. With a toss of her head she shoved her hair back, and swiped her hand over her face to clear her eyes. They were both soaked through and she grinned toothily at him. “You know, you’re right, a quenching is just what I needed!”

Taking a moment to look him over she arched a brow. “Soaked is a good look for you. Nearly as good as shirtless.”

“Alright, do you all know how to play?”

It was the hunting season, and with his siblings, both those by blood and those by law, off enjoying themselves, it was Arvo’s turn to watch the children. He didn’t complain; he got so little time with his nephews and nieces. Today, he had four of them - Artanis, Láminiel and Alimo,the children of one of Eärwen’s brothers, and Laurefindil.

“I’ll count and all of you have to go and hide. Just stay in the house and the garden.”

“I’m just a little dizzy, it’ll pass," he said, smiling through a wince and holding a hand to his head. If he was starting to loose his vision, he didn't think mentioning it would help.

“All the same, we should get you into the healers’ hands as soon as possible.  I’d rather be overly cautious and have it turn out to be nothing than have you think it’s nothing, take a nap, and... and not wake up again.”

The elvensmith had been packing his bag for what it seemed would be a long travel. The fires of his forge are burning warm, still---he made no attempt to put it out, preferring to leave it for the wandering souls who are irked by the cutting bitterness of the cold. Along with his belongings, he packed a hammer, a pick, and several elven breads enough to last a few weeks. He wore thickly and thinly---the garments on his body is light, but the boots on his soles are heavy. It is clear that he is prepped for a journey that would require a lot of walking, yet he could not afford to be weighed down by unnecessary weight.

A sound caused him to turn his head towards the entrance, Celebrimbor’s eyes remained impassive, but there was a touch of a smile on his lips. ❝Lord Glorfindel,❞ he sank to half a bow,  ❝I hope you are not here to pick up an order. I recalled having delivered everything back to their respective owners. For I am required to depart for a month-long journey to acquire some materials at Lord Turgon’s behest. I will be leaving Gondolin for a few weeks.❞
