Domino paper or papier dominoté, literally ‘masking paper’, made in Paris in 1748.  It was used to make end-papers for books, and paper covers for books sold unbound.  

There’s a beautiful pageful of different domino papers here.  But if you like this one in particular, you can buy a hardback notebook bound in a contemporary version of it from Cambridge Imprint.  (The ‘Milky Way’ design, halfway down.)
