Even in current times, Spiders and Tarantulas still suffer from stigma deeply rooted in both humans and naturalized bugs in Chitisia, and as such few efforts by the common folk are made to understand them, and very few of the Arachnids have ever been introduced to society, and most remain feral, stalking through the wilderness not unlike a savage beast. However, those who have ever met an Arachnid who has been shown compassion and taught how to integrate with society know that they are more than beasts, and that they are merely one of several bug species that are victims of the common folk's unwillingness to change.

Somewhere near the edge of The Crawling Jungle, a newly hatched member of the Goliath Burgundy Tarantula species was huddled with his siblings under the watchful gaze of mother during a particularly nasty storm when a sudden strong wind heaved a surge of river water that flooded the burrow the young spiderlings were in, flushing a few of the newborns out into the river. While mother was quick to act, and some had managed to grab hold of something, that one little spiderling was ripped away and carried down the current, his desperate flailing failing to grab hold of anything to cling to.

He continued downstream, struggling to even so much as to catch a breath, when another wind blown surge flung him from the waves and he crashed onto the riverbank, where as he scra
