So, I tend to actively try to dial back my natural French accent when I'm speaking to people that primarily use English, right? But I don't need to with Davis, because he's been around long enough that he can understand me either way.

Aaaand I almost accidentally killed Davis with my accent today.

I was trying to Adult because I needed to activate a new card so I called the bank. And they were super busy or something, because I was on hold for what felt like forever! But obviously I had to stick it out.

I was pacing in the living room while Davis was hanging out on the couch, listening to the staticky elevator music they autoplay while you wait, and the music stopped, so I got all excited like "Finally I can talk to a person!". Wrong. It was an automatic 'sorry about the wait' message.

So I just sighed and looked over at Davis and said, "Five hours later..." 'cause that's how it felt!

And Davis just starts losing it. 0 - 100, boom, he's gone. Obviously I was confused because I thought he might sympathize and didn't quite see why it was funny.

Eventually Davis choked out 'Spongebob narrator' and sent me this.
