Greek style fish
Polish food is is associated aspecially with meat dishes - yes, in fact, we eat a lot of meat. But we also have a special, old Polish recipe for fish, called Greek-style fish.
Greek-style fish is one of a completely gorgeous, originally traditional polish food which, as a tradition in many Polish families, is a sure dish on the Christmas Eve table. Briefly, it’s a fish stewed with vegetables. The recipe comes from Poland and to spite the name of this dish, Greeks do not have a slightest inkling about it. No one has ever been able to explain to me where the name of the dish comes from. Maybe several years ago a Pole had the idea of Greek-style fish recipe, and wanted to make it sound exotic and rare?
What is interesting about this food, the Polish Greek-style fish is often eaten cold, although this is not a rule. It’s made from fish filets fried in a coating. Next, fish is being arranged in a bowl together with a special, red-colored blend made from boiled vegetables and tomato paste. What we’ve got here is grated carrot, parsley, celery, onion, tomato concentrate. The most important ingredient is carrot. This unique Polish food is rather sweet and quite aromatic. You have to try it!
