Today marks the 10th year of this project ! I started this blog as a way to share this interest of mine and keep myself busy during a period of unemployment. I found a new job soon enough but never stopped spending some time on Google Earth, looking for beautiful and interesting things to share.

Google recently announced that they will be retiring Google Earth Pro in 2027 so I don't know yet what it will mean for Low Orbit Tourist, but I believe I can find another workflow.

Anyway, here's to many more years of satellite exploration hopefully 🥳. Thanks so much to all of you who followed me, recently or not, I'm grateful to have found some people that enjoy this weird hobby.

Today I learned that Google Earth is being discontinued and it will be impossible to download starting in August 2027. I decided to do something about it, so you can now download it off the internet archive.
