Both those goomba moms are very pretty and politically opinionated it seems. Did they ever butt heads before?

The two were sisters.

That is, until their political differences drove them apart.

Goombella’s mother, Goomarissa (current day and back when she was 22).

A serious and hard working woman, Marissa is very goal oriented and always gets what she wants. Because of this, she has had a successful career in politics, and she is one of the few goombas on Peach’s council. Having worked for the crown over 20 years, Marissa knows all the going-ons in the Kingdom, and she utilizes her tattle ability to collect intelligence information. As such, very few, if any, political opponents try to cross her since she more than likely has career crushing intel on them.

As a mother, she is a bit tough and demanding, but all in all she is very proud of her daughter. She was disappointed her daughter didn’t follow her into politics, or use her tattle talents to become a journalist, but she was delighted when she found out Bella aided Mario during the Thousand Year Door incident. Ever since then, she has been using that story as a huge talking point during political rallies, much to Bella’s chagrin. (She has also been trying to set Bella up with Mario or one of the other Plumbers since then, much to Bella's embarrassment :p ).
