Finally, he is done!

Definitely my biggest embroidery yet - only the fourth I've done. He's now been framed with a poem I wrote for the piece - I did originally post that as well, but I have since removed as I think I'll leave it private for family.

Finally watching Flight of Dragons. I remember seeing trailers for it as a kid and I can’t believe I waited this long. Anyway here’s the sweetest baby boy.

Baby Gorbash from the old animated movie The Flight of Dragons ♥️ Does anybody remember this masterpiece?

I drew this thing for the zine-like project Cartoon Calendar that in 2024 was dedicated to dragons from animated movies, series and games.

Today's "Smaugust Dragon" is Gorbash from the Flight of Dragons.

Gorbash and the other dragons from The Flight of Dragons are the winners for top "fat-style" (made with round shapes) dragons! They're so freaking cute! And they're anthropomorphized in that way that they can walk on all-fours or two legs and look amazing.

ALSO. Rankin Bass always had really nice character designs. I need to look up who did their design work because it's wonderful.

So why is Gorbash holding that plate made of gold in the way he is? Well, he's struggling against tomorrow's dragon!

Tomorrow's dragon is one who, like Gorbash also has a hoard of gold. Only this one also has a sexy Don Bluth girl in his stash.
