It's looking pretty dark and stormy outside, which calls for a riff on the classic, using dark rum and ginger along with some new stuff. This is one of the cocktails I'm trying out for a series inspired by a secret society.

 The True North 

2 oz @goslingsrum 

1/3 homemade fig-infused maple syrup 

1/3 lemon juice

pinch fresh grated ginger 

 @thistlycrosscider's whisky cask cider

dash of @thehudsonstandard lovestruck bitters

Shake all ingredients excepting the cider, strain into a lowball over ice, top with cider, and experience a sudden surety of purpose and remarkable intuition.
