so listen, it hit me the other night, when Nighteye used his Foresight Quirk to predict All Might's future

it was when All Might had been taken to the hospital after his fight with All for One

n Mirai, who is absolutely beside himself with the fear and terror of the unstoppable Symbol of Peace being brought down by his greatest enemy, understandably needs an answer, a reassurance, please something

for insurance purposes, he tried to coldly reason. if its going to happen, I need to know because I need to put all his affairs in order and--

the beeping machines bunched together and the mutitude of hoses protruding from All Might's prone body unnerved Mirai terribly. and it wasn't the hand of the calculating sidekick that reached for his hero but the shaking hand of a friend who is on the sickening verge of learning a terrible truth.

there was relief when Mirai saw Toshinori would not die today. and then the relief was short lived as he saw further.

is that what woke up Toshinori? did he know that Mirai Looked? did he also fear how close death had come and hated himself for that fear?

We do not speak of Death.

Mirai, who only wanted comfort and hope, now finding a new wedge between him and his hero. desperately trying to repair the damage, trying to make All Might see reason, silently begging him not to leave his friend.

Traffic was backed up along Sunset, what was new there? Opting for an alternative en route to the house on Redcliff where the shitty part of his job required babysitting of up and coming rapper, Dom the Destroyer. Glad for the stoplights that felt like were never changing, that dreaded sense in the back of his mind that Dom, like yesterday and the day before wouldn’t be there. 

Mind somewhat blank, Jordan shook out the conversations he’d had planned for Dom— a new attempt at centering. Hell, he even dipped into the rock theory. Tuck one here, stick one there you’ll absorb their energies. Not exactly something he actually believed in but, what the hell? Nothing changed, no light, some jackhammering in the distance, Yaz played on his stereo - an old tape from back in high school? Middle school? Still worked. In a daze, watching the life around him, a woman with her kid on a leash, the dogs... loads of dogs. Led by walkers and pushed in carts. Someone was yelling at someone else at one of the tattoo shops, and a familiar shape....a familiar shape of a woman he’d once known. Another world away— now he’d felt this before. 

The mistake of recognition. How it instantly had his heart racing and his palms sweaty. “No way...” mumbling to himself as he followed her into a nearby entrance. Everything in him then told him to keep driving, couldn’t be her. The last he’d allowed himself to assume was she’d picked up with the clothes on her back to some cabin in upstate New York, maybe Canada. Something far enough where she could fight some bears. 

But something was off right now and Jordan pulled off. No parking spot. Just stopped. Pushed the hazard lights on and almost instantly Dom and the chance of towing was well forgotten. 

K.O. —he’d heard of it, even been recommended but he’d already had his loyalties.

His heart sounded like drums in his ears, that confirmation on the doorway that same feeling of a 300 pound corner taking his best with a sack. Without much more thought he pushed the door open, that bell above a reminder of who he was about to be confronted with. When she did round the corner and was in front of him for the first time in seven? Eight years, he was hard pressed to look at the space she’d made her own. With another name.

🥚I feel like a lot of fans misuse the word toxic and unhealthy relationship when it comes to lovesquare. They only use that as an excuse to spite it when in fact they’re far from toxic or unhealthy. Maybe they do need to grow up or the exaggerated actions are too much but to label it as such is demeaning the real meaning of toxic/unhealthy relationships *shout out to yeet-noir’s post about it*

I wouldn't personally say the love square is unhealthy or that they even need to date other people before getting together. They could learn and grow together. They could just learn on their own. I've always disliked the notion that the square can't be together right now because they're too immature or need to grow up and learn or move past the obsessive schoolyard side of their feelings cause like...they're in middle school. And part of learning and growing is going through those phases. Plenty of people start dating in high school when they're young and stupid about love, but they learn and grow together and end up married. I know several people from high school that were like that a good chunk of my peers have married their high school sweethearts. A few of them got pregnant by their high school sweethearts in high school and are still together with more kids now. It's not about how mature you are when the relationship begins, but how you grow together.

As for the square being unhealthy, there are far unhealthier ships in the show (*cough looking at you Nathalie*). The instances of contention that people point fingers at when they say the square is unhealthy are like two whole instances out of dozens of other really good moments. And yeah, maybe the show should have pointed out that those instances were an issue a little better, but I don't think they are enough to label the whole ship unhealthy or toxic. Especially not when we have so many other instances of them genuinely caring about one another and sacrificing for one another. Sometimes you have to sacrifice when you love someone. That doesn't mean your love is unhealthy. That's just what love is. I think a lot of the criticism comes from people who just don't understand love. Maybe they've never been in love. Idk. But the love square is FAR from toxic. Far, far, far from it.

Heh, more like I’ve read enough fanfiction to think fake marriages are a good idea. We’ve been friends for a long time, and she’s been living with her mother since she lost her job (and that’s not always a good situation for either of them), so it would’ve landed her a safe place to live, too. And emotional support, which she needs desperately because she’s always had a depressive problem and was a cutter as a teenager, so she’s been THIS CLOSE to suicide from the pain SO MANY TIMES over the past almost two years now.

And being inexplicably ill for a long time really shows you who your friends are, so she’s cut a lot of phonies out of her life, which has drastically reduced her self-worth. *sigh*

But she’s also a friend back (an awesome person, though she doesn’t think so) and didn’t want me on the line for all the medical expenses my baseline insurance wouldn’t cover for her or food/utilities/etc. because she knows I’m always borderline broke even with a full-time office job. *sigh* I told her the offer is always on the table, but we both know I couldn’t afford the kind of medical bills she’s running up. Though I’d by-God try.

If she was able to keep her Medicaid, my insurance and her Medicaid would go a long way (so long as the fucking GOP doesn’t steal it right out from under her), and the new complication of seizures will surely put her disability claim on the path to approval, but if her new claim is rejected again (you have to keep appealing and appealing and appealing) and they counted my income (small as it is), she’d probably lose her coverage.

She won’t do that to me. And as long as she has Medicaid covering her care, she’s better off single and unable to work. Ugh.

Sometimes, I really hate the GOP. Today is absolutely one of those many, many days.
