Happy World Goth Day 2021
Drawing Goth Trenton with customised clothing for World Goth Day! A day where we celebrate the goth music, musicians, and overall scene that has shaped this music community since late 70s/early 80s post-punk movement until today.
Okay, so let's start off with the well-known goth club, the one, the only, the legendary London's Batcave ran by Olli Wisdom and Jon Klein from one of earliest deathrock band, Specimen as the main feature in the design on the right lapel.
On the left lapel we got three goth-rock bands that very popular among goths; The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission UK and Fields of Nephilim as I write him to like goth-rock the most among other part of goth music (deathrock, post-punk/goth, darkwave, coldwave, ethereal wave).
Next, I give the hem burnt or worn out effect so that it giving off punkish vibe; inspired by where goth originated from which is punk, particularly post-punk.
Other than that I give camouflage patterned trousers as a throwback of his canon teenage design; having camouflage sleeved shirt (or possibly undershirt) that very synonymous in his character design.
For the footwear, well, I tried to draw wrinkle-picker but it end up looking weird as the tip ain't pointy aha haa. Let's say it's a wrinkle-picker plus boot abomination aha haa.
Lastly is the spider web on the sleeves. This actually a last minute decision where I remembered some fellow goths has DIY spider web sleeves on them. Due to it being complicated to draw in simplistic art style like TD so I simplified it to the point it doesn't look too much of a mess based on visual hierarchy.
P/S: I know lapel should be left over right, I switch it so that it easier for me to write the Batcave name lel.
Thanks to @courtneysfairygodmother for the base clothing inspiration! The moment I see it my brain just go "It's DIY time!"
