fresh and his stupid kid

ngl in real goulash lore, i'm not sure if he ever meets his "parents"??? since he was created nowhere near them, he's not even sure how he was created, so he just assumes he just randomly spawned into existence one day---which is pretty sick swag if you ask me

if anything, he might've ran into them once or twice, but unless he puts two-and-two together with detecting fresh (the parasite), then he won't think twice about them aside that greaser has cool hair

ALSO ARRGHH IM SO SORRY I'VE BEEN SO ABSENT THE PAST FEW DAYS. I've been so insanely busy with Christmas n being sick n jazz. I've been wanting to draw and lowkey expand on goulash stuff since I want to force people to acknowledge his existence (since I think he's pretty awesome sauce)

anyways i don't often do this, but I made a ship kid (kinda??????) for retrorock // freshgrease. its name is goulash. its design is still a work in progess, so don't take anything as absolute here

it was created during a freak accident between fresh and greaser when fresh's host body was dying, and he needed to move into another host body before it died, so greaser allowed fresh to infiltrate his. some real nasty work happened (I haven't worked out the exact details yet lolol), and a piece of greaser's soul and fresh's parasite fused or whatever and escaped. that was goulash. and straight after it slipped into some unfortunate AU and took a host body, though very violently, creating a huge star-shaped fracture around the left eye. goulash does this with every host body it steals.

this also means goulash was never a child at any point (unlike literally all the other ship kids). it'll always steal adult host bodies since kid hosts are too weak (and totally lame)

uh anyway. I've been working on his personality and design more than his origins, and all you need to know currently is that he's really really stupid and designed off of old rockstars

though i feel really cringy for adding him with the other ship children (bc I feel like I'm almost forcing him in there when it feels like he doesn't belong bc nobody knows him), I have quite a few comics and pieces featuring him so people better understand his character since I genuinely think he'd be a lot of fun (and hey if people are interested in him, then later I'll officially flesh out everything and make his origins public)

anyway upset i didn't add lux :( I love her sm, but she came to mind afterward. also don't look into the logistics of both pj and cray being here. it's better not to think about it

Fun fact: goulash is also sexless but normally associates gender with whatever gender or pronouns the host body previously went by—so he’s also technically genderfluid. He’s just too stupid to remember anything beyond 2 days

ALSO SORRY IT TOOK ME A BIT TO ANSWER THIS. I've been hella busy with work and friends recently, and now my schools starting back up next Tuesday, which means I'll have zero to no time to draw ever :,))))))))))

HOLY SHID ITS GOULASH

okay so hopefully the face and glasses look fine. uhh. i've been staring at this for like 3 hours straight, so I genuinely won't be able to tell until morning. brahs my eyes are melting

uhh goulash lore: goulash's primary weapon is his guitar, which could open at the end and emit a laser or be used like a gun. I'm not sure yet. it's undecided. he could activate it by strumming specific chords; if it is a gun, then plucking a particular string would mimic a trigger (he's not a sans so he doesn't have any bone attacks btw)

i mean i guess he also has his stupid katana, but it's sorta made of plastic, so it just sorta hurts like stupid if you anger him and he has it on hand >:(

also goulash's outfit may change in each post, but that's because none of his outfits are official, so I'm just altering them until I get something I like and will probably later make a ref sheet on. who knows

this has been a picture i've been meaning to draw, and I think the fanart helped push me to finally drawing it :))

UNDERTALE PUPPET AU

Hey, fellas. Considering Goulash’s backstory, I’m going to be making a new Underale AU revolving around the concept of puppets/muppets/dolls/marionettes. This is partially inspired by the desire to give Goulash a heavy fascination with puppets and partially by the want to give him an interesting and cohesive backstory.

Goulash never officially meets his parents, Fresh and Greaser (or at least knows who they are if they collide), nor does he ever have the luxury of childhood, instantly conceived as a parasite that infiltrates adult bodies due to their greater power and soul strength compared to children—though this doesn’t mean Goulash never had adult figures to help guide him.

Regardless, I thought a puppet-themed AU would also be a great idea revolving around Goulash due to his parasitic nature and how well themes of manipulation, alternative control, and hostage could easily go hand-in-hand with puppets. Though presented as a child-friendly AU where the entire Undertale cast is replaced with various differentiating puppet versions of themselves, the AU is nothing short of horrifying and sinister, with underlying manipulative themes stitched into the seams.

The AU is still in the newborn stages. All you need to know is that there are going to be five (or three) new characters out of the entire original cast that will serve as Goulash’s “caregivers” or “guidance.” I also wanted to brainstorm a creative name for this AU since I’m pretty sure Underpuppet and Puppettale have already been taken. Plus, I wanted it to be something innovative and interesting.

It could also be an AU that many could separate Goulash’s story from if anyone just wanted to have fun with the silly, horror puppet AU. I wouldn’t mind.

This will also greatly inspire the AU, revolving around its darker themes. Other inspirations will include Welcome Home, the Muppets, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, Hello Puppets, etc.

And what sucks is that he doesn't even play music like this. He is entirely based on '70s rockstars, so his music is more inspired by KISS, AC/DC, Steve Miller Band, idk just all the popular stuff---though nothing is entirely set in stone yet since he's still relatively new, and I need time to flesh him out

i'm sad i haven't been actually posting much recently, but I've been working on this big animatic (its not that big lol) of goulash and his poor parents, and I'm praying to finish it by the end of this week
