Gov school teachers
do governors' schools understand a low GPA if you're a sophomore? like none of the AP classes are factored in or anything so i'm worried that will affect my application
Response from Severus:
As I understand, the TJ application for Governor’s school is not as much holistic as it is numerical. A low GPA might put you at a disadvantage in that category in the application, but if you excel in other areas, you might be fine. Just remember that Governor’s school applications are really competitive, especially for the Medicine and Science ones, so don’t feel too bad if you don’t get it. Juniors will have more experience and a higher GPA anyways.
Response from Madeye:
I feel like they will look at your transcript as well! If you have good grades and the lower GPA is just from the natural lack of AP classes, it shouldn’t count against you! Although juniors probably do get priority.
things i learned while at gov school
-mocha coffee means there’s chocolate in it
-cards against humanity is a great way to quickly bond and create a friend group
-i may be slightly gayer than i had originally budgeted to be
-spittakes are a real and incredible thing

Ugh governors school has been the best thing I've done in my high school career thus far and I'm having more fun and learning more things than I ever have or will in my terrible school and I never want to leave and there are only 10 days left and I wanna cry because I know this will all be gone and it's gonna be so painful because I don't know how to handle the real world after an experience like this.
I miss my girl
