Lessons. Mistakes are fine, we all make them, no one’s perfect. But idiotic mistakes, in the real world of real jobs and serious professions, get you fired. And when a gov’t official makes too many mistakes on the most basic things, when she thinks she is “media” because she holds a mic and a camera phone; when she uses her access to govt officials by asking inane, pointless questions that lead only to praising her Tatay Digong (who by the way is not her father but the President of nation); when she only speaks to the Duterte Diehard Supporters instead of to all of us who pay for her salary; when she gets paid P100k a month from taxpayers’ money. Then in THIS real world, she will be tried and tested and ridiculed and laughed at because we deserve better. This is NOT about us, as it is about her. Breathe. Haven't been to this mall in a long time but errands demand a one-stop shop, and so I speed through the space, one end to another, stopping to breathe at this hilarity, the kind that makes one smile, but also at a time like this when Presidential rhetoric is about justifying killings and violence, about rationalizing infidelity and polygamy, even normalizing chauvinism, one sees the sourness in this state of affairs.
