I sent my little cousin abroad some books (some old faves I had doubles of, some new kid classics) and she sent back a letter saying that she liked them. unrelatedly, I started pirating a lot of my childhood fave books for my ereader and I’m now mentally going through them to figure out which ones to send her based on her age.
I also need to write a ‘hey kiddo, you’re 12 now, and that means you should learn internet piracy’ guide. ofc I’ll start with project gutenburg and standard ebooks (one of the books I sent her was an abridged copy of Anne of green gables) (I know those aren’t piracy but they’re gateway drugs).
the next obvious step is annas-archive but I can’t actually think of any warnings I’d need to give her? I’ve never actually had fake file problems or anything on annas-archive, is that something I should warn her about? I don’t think a child would care for libgen or the internet archive. thoughts?
