GPEN Elite Review

The GPEN Elite was the very first vaporizer we ever purchased! It is a great beginner vape to open your mind to vaporizing. Naturally, I am a lover of the herb (the bud, marijuana), and I am quite impressed with how incredibly deep this chamber is, fitting .75 grams inside! The Elite is a very sleek and attractive vaporizer. The size is great (the same size as our smallest remote control!) and fits in your hand like a dream. I can definitely tell they put quite a bit of time into the design of this vape.

The mouth piece can become very warm to the lips after continuous use, but on those chilly days out snowboarding, its quite nice. GPEN has now begun shipping mouthpiece sleeves included in the price, in order to help with a hot mouth piece.

The hits are smooth and give off lots of flavour of the bud. We have tested it out a various different temperatures and we found around 375°F was the most effective heat setting. Warm enough to give us the smooth vapor we are looking for but not too hot that the mouthpiece is unbearable.

The device is fairly easy to use with an led screen on one side that provides you with the full temperature controls from 200- 428°F, and an easy 5 click system to turn off and on. The Elite only takes 30 seconds to warm up to your desired temperature. After turning the pen on and you have picked your heat setting, holding down the activation button will enable the vaporizer to start heating up. Simply place the mouth piece on your lips and hold down the activation button and take your first drag.

It comes will a cleaning brush and material tool, which is great for moving material around inside the chamber and creating room for more. The cleaning tools that the GPEN Elite comes with are awesome for cleaning the mouth pieces little air holes in the screen. The screen will typically get clogged up and sticky after about 2 or 3 bowls, so we would recommend that cleaning the screen out every time you charge the battery would be in good practice. The mouth piece can be difficult to take off at first and but after a few times of cleaning, this becomes easier. Overall, this pen is very easy to clean and as per usual I would recommend dry running your Elite before using. Please see our blog on how to clean your vape.

The other big thing that I really enjoyed was how discreet looking this model is. It doesn't look like the traditional e-cig vape but when out and about in a public setting it looks and smells a lot better then just sparking up a joint! There is still a hint of cannabis in the vapor exhaled but it is very minimal. However in a more closed space, such as a living room, you may not notice any smell but anyone coming in and out of the home will.

The battery on the Elite holds a charge for quite awhile. It can last you about 2 or 3 bowls, but this can also depend on what temperature your running at. However, the charging piece on this product is not great. It can be bent if charging in awkward positions and end up being unchargeable because it no longer works. GPEN has recognized this issue and they have begun to ship the Elite with a charging dock to prevent this.

The GPEN Elite is still one of our favourite go to's for vaping. The size, shape and deep chamber are amazing and the amount of pros to cons is definitely not a concern. The price of the elite is $149.99 and honestly, probably the best bang for your buck right now for herb vape pens. Other comparable vaporizers (such as the Pax 3) can run you anywhere from $250 and up. This is a great vaporizer for those who live an active lifestyle. Highly recommended for anyone in search of joining the vape side and not wanting to lose their love for the bud!
