Hiroshi Yoshida (septiembre 19, 1876 a abril 5, 1950 ) fue un pintor y japonés del siglo XX, grabador en madera. Se le considera como uno de los más grandes artistas del  estilo Shin-Hanga y es especialmente conocido por sus excelentes paisajes. Yoshida viajó mucho, y destaca por sus imágenes no japonesas realizadas en madera en el estilo tradicional japonés, incluyendo el Taj Mahal, los Alpes suizos, el Gran Cañón, y otros parques nacionales en los Estados Unidos.

Recently finished this commissioned little piece for someone who wanted an illustration of this bizarre little Bible story: Then Jesus told them a parable about their need to pray always and not to lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people. In that city there was a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Grant me justice against my opponent.’ For a while he refused; but later he said to himself, ‘Though I have no fear of God and no respect for anyone, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will grant her justice, so that she may not wear me out by continually coming.’”

Like most of my reflections on Biblical passages it’s absurdly literal.

Damn Right I’ll Rise Again, 2019
