“War’s going to give me hell for this...” Kikuhito muttered before taking a deep breath. Sitting on their usual bench in the cemetery, he stared out into the cityscape. Smoke from riots could be seen and sirens from SHOT vehicles could be heard in the distance. For once, the scene of unfolding chaos wasn’t amusing to him --- not when it wasn’t in his control. It was in War’s. “Grace, you’ve done this longer than I have. How do you keep Death in check? The other day...” He bit his lip. He hated admitting this. “...War took over and I couldn’t stop him. He attacked someone out of no where.” Never had he felt regret like this before. He had organized international bombings that had killed thousands of people, but it was the potential of almost killing someone with his literal own hands --- against his will --- that shook him.
