Finally to the last day of GraGoh week 2021, to the long awaited unity. Based on @mystics-and-chill 's headcanon (Thanx for making me cry ugly tears😭) about Skekgra and Urgoh living out the last of their days with one another, and might have passed before Jen's journey. While they may not have been able to achieve their goal of becoming one being, I would like to think they left the world in peace, knowing that in the life beyond the flesh, they will become one in spirit. Thanx again for the opportunity @mystics-and-chill , and hope you guys enjoyed this small Journey with me into nostalgia.

Drabble Update

His mind has changed so many times in these last thousand trine. Torn asunder. Torn. Alterations – choices that created a new mindset, stitched together like a new cloak, then cemented with a single nail.

Thinking was painful for an age – it can be, still, but all things fade with time. So, too, does the sting. Perhaps it is because he no longer fights against what has happened. The stitching. It occurred naturally, a bi-product of their proximity – the enmeshment of minds. He sometimes sees their tower room from a different perspective – through his own eyes and through another’s. It is dizzying, the overlapping vision. And is the tower a sanctuary or a cage? His opinion on that blurs – and which one was his to begin with? His thoughts… they are fleeting. They sometimes leave his head only to be completed by his other half. These days, it is common for them to finish each other’s sentences.

They’ve grown back together – not exactly of one mind, yet, but definitely not of two.

There are days when he wants to return to the Castle to try to change more minds, but they are few. urGoh’s reminder stops his baser urges to resort to force. Change can only occur for a willing mind, after all, and the minds back in the Castle and sequestered in the Valley are so altered, still, that there is no use in trying to stitch them back together.

I don’t know how controversial a HC it is or not but it’s one I’m partial to; their ending coming not from the rejoining of their split halves to form their radiant one-self again, but in the centuries spent waiting for and working toward it, whiling away their long lives in orbit around one another in ever-decreasing circles until the three suns begin to spin toward one another in the sky in mirror, and they, together, ancient and tired and too frail now to make the journey to the Crystal, decide that their entwined lives are as near to unity as they’re going to get. That this was close enough 🧡
